How to make concrete in Minecraft

  1. Choose your dye before starting to make concrete. You should choose your color. There are about 16 possible dyes which include red, orange, light pink, blue, green, white, grey, light grey, magenta, lime, cyan, brown, blue, black. You can obtain dyes by trading, crafting, and smelting.
  2. Craft concrete powder we need some concrete powder to start. You can craft it at the crafting table . for this select four blocks of sand, four blocks for gravel, and one for dye. The dye is your choice.
  3. Making concrete powder to start we need concrete. when concrete powder comes in contact with water it hardens so for this you need to select hot water from your hot bar. Pour the water onto the concrete until it becomes a thick paste.

The thing to note here is that the game control to use the water bucket depends on the version of mine craft 

  • For java; right click on gray concrete powder
  • For pocket edition; tap on gray concrete powder 
  • For Xbox; press the LT button on the Xbox controller 
  • For ps3 and ps4; press the L2 button on the game controller 
  • For Nintendo switch; press the ZL button on the controller 
  • For Windows 10 edition; right click on the gray concrete powder 
  • For education edition; right click on the gray concrete powder

source;  crafted from sunflowers 

12. Black dye 

Source;  squids drop it naturally 

13. Brown dye 

source; you can find brown dye in jungle biomes 

14. Gray dye 

Source; by combining ink sac with bonemeal 

15. Light gray 

source; combining bone meal with gray dye. Another way is combining 2 bone meal with 1 ink sac 

16. White dye 

Source;  crafted from bones

What tool I should use for breaking concrete?

To break a concrete a pickaxe should be used. And for the powder you can use a shovel.

How do I prevent concrete powder from falling?

Because of gravity, the powder must fall but keep in mind the powder will only fall when there is no block beneath it so you need to put something under the powder to save it from falling.

Uses of concrete  

  • It is a bright solid color material that is useful for decoration.
  • It can be used a hardening material for buildings as it is slightly harder than stone 
  • Its blast resistance is low
