This fake news and rumors encourage users to make false stories and prank their friends. On Thursday, the 2nd of January, Microsoft’s community manager tweeted, “Hey folks, I can confirm that Minecraft servers are NOT shutting down in 2020. It’s just a stupid hoax. Feel free to pass this along”.
