Technical Review
Physically Based Materials
First, on the list is physically based materials which got an update. In standard Minecraft we get 2 properties for an object i.e. Color, Opacity. But this new update comes with 3 new parameters for an object.
- Mettalic – Will it have metallic properties
- Normal – What kind of surface will the object have
- Emissive – Either the surface will emit light or not
- Roughness – Roughness level of an object
DLSS 2.0 – A Big Leap
Minecraft with RTX Beta comes with an accelerated processing. Featuring the all new Nvidia DLSS 2.0. This is a really cool rendering technique which involve extensive use of AI.
Here are few of the core feature which DLSS 2.0 brings to the table.
2X FASTER AI NETWORK
It is said to perform 2x faster than before and works on all RTX GPUs and Resolutions.
4X SUPER-RES WITH TEMPORAL FEEDBACK
Based of AI and temporal feedback it will predict and generate high-res images with clear images quality.
ONE AI MODEL FOR ALL GAMES
This technique also features one AI model for the all games. Making it easily integrate-able everywhere.
6 FREE RTX Maps Included
Moreover, This all new Minecraft with RTX Beta comes with 6 exciting new maps. Also, these maps are built by Top Minecraft Creators to give you a sense of how RTX feels like.

Download Minecraft with RTX Beta
Minecraft with RTX Beta will be available to download from 16th April 10 AM PDT. Before that you need to be ready for this by installing Minecraft with RTX Game Ready Driver. The driver with be available to download on 15th April 2020. Check on Nvidia Geforce website for step by step guide to get you started. So, save the date folks!
