As, mentioned on the official website of Minecraft. There will be no further updates on 1.14 and the newer version will be 1.15 which will be more focused toward the quality and performance of the game. This means that 1.14.4 is the last version which contains new features.

Let’s dive deep into Minecraft 1.14.4 and see what we have in this new update.

Performance Improvements

This release definitely includes some performance updates as you can feel the speed of map, loading a bit faster compared to the previous version. Moreover, as we all know that memory leaks were a bit of worry in Minecraft. Like, if you exit the world and then enter 2-3 times, it starts to leak memory. But, amazingly with this new update no evident memory leaks.

Further, if you have a Minecraft server or you are a administrator, you might have faced CPU load issues on previous versions. But, this version seems to fix that as well.

Playing on server, you might have noticed a lag while you are digging down that caused you to fall down. This seems normal but it is a bug that was reported and finally it is fixed now.

Server Updates

This update packs alot of new stuff for the server admins. Now you can reload and forcereload the game. Also, a new function permission setting is introduced which can be used to control the access of commands for users.

Also, the introduction of chunk loading strategy has made the online gameplay more interesting and fluent.

There’s another great feature added named “Debug Report”. This will give users and insight on what’s going on in the world. In this report, you’ll get a gamerules.txt file which includes all the game rules. Also, you can view reports for each of the levels.

Bug Fixes

Minecraft 1.14.4 includes alot of bug fixing as well. Let us cover some of major ones to give you an idea.

New Additions/Modifications

One great addition to this 1.14.4 update is now villagers will remember their gossips after becoming Zombie villagers. Also, villagers can stock more items. Moreover, there’s better AI in the game and path finding improved.

If you are playing the game lately, you know that suspicious stew gives you speed but that’s been taken off and now it will give you night vision. Which is in fact pretty cool feature to have.

There’s also some upgrade to zombie sieges and they will now comply with normal mob spawning rules. So, this means you can protect your villagers by adding slabs or torches and Zombies wont spawn over them.
